Dan O'Hagan

Dan O'Hagan is heard commentating on football all over the world. His voice is familiar to viewers on a full range of prestigious competitions and his work is much in demand by television channels and production companies in the UK and across the globe.

A hugely successful freelancer since 2005, he previously held staff positions as a reporter, presenter and commentator at Manchester United Television (MUTV) and ITV Anglia.

Comfortable both live and in recorded "highlights" form, Dan has been commentating for television since 1999, having won BBC Radio Five Live's "Young Football Commentator" competition in 1997. His live terrestrial TV commentary debut came for ITV Anglia in 2002 at the age of just 24. A year later he commentated for Eurosport from the Stade de France on the mighty Brazil versus Cameroon at the FIFA Confederations Cup. His debut on the world-famous BBC programme Match of the Day came just a year later, when he was 26.

In 2010, Dan travelled to South Africa as part of the ground-breaking team broadcasting the first FIFA World Cup to be shown in 3D. During the tournament Dan's voice was heard on channels such as SBS 3D in Australia, as well as ESPN's 3D service in the United States, coverage which was to earn the channel nominations at the 2011 Sports Emmy awards. 2013 saw Dan in Brazil for the duration of the Confederations Cup, commentating on the host nation as well as teams including world champions Spain.

His knowledge of the world game is unsurpassed, and has a genuine passion for the sport at all levels which comes across in his work. He takes great pride in his meticulous approach to research and pronunciation - preparation is a major, and crucial part of a successful commentary.

In addition, Dan is also a knowledgeable aviation photojournalist, podcaster and airshow commentator. Indeed, he spent an acclaimed four year spell as Senior Commentator at the world-famous Royal International Air Tattoo, and he is keen to expand his client base in that area. In 2012 he launched the 'Display Frequency' series of occasional aviation podcasts which have topped the iTunes charts, with more episodes planned for the future.
